Beginning Middle and End

Beginning middle and end Uni project done in Lino. I based my story on a book named Skellig which is about a half man half bird that lives in the attic of an empty house. A new family move in and the child, a small boy discovers Skellig…… In my version the reader is the boy in the first person. These prints were put together to form a foldout booklet.

Palindromes Project in progress

Here are a few images which will eventually form a set of 10 illustrations for my uni summer project. Each illustration is based on a palindrome. Its pretty challenging to try and interpret something as complex as a palindrome in picture form. Ive gone for a 4 frame narrative the goal being that i set the illustrations out in such a way that the viewer can start from any frame and the story will still make sense. This is ment to reflect the fact palindromes are the same both forwards and backwards.

Animal/Human Illusions

Ive finally Gotten round to scanning in my Lino prints for my Illusion project, Each image is both animal and human depending on which way you view it from.

First Year of Uni Finished

So ive finished my first year of university at Norwich University College of the Arts! Its been a really good year, i feel ive come along as an artist and realised what i enjoy doing the most. I havnt found the time to post on this blog very much but im going to make an effort to post up most of the work i have done this uni year.

Ive ventured into Lino printing and collage, these seem to be my two main areas of focus at the momment but i look forward to using the summer and my next uni year to progress, trying diffrent techniques and mediums.

A Gallery Of Architypes

The finished result of a uni project called 'A Gallery of Architypes', we had to pick 20 acrchitypes from a list and make an image for each. Ive focused more on objects or scenes that give you idea of the architype. I decided to expiriment with elements of collage, watercolour, forced perpectives, sharply cropped views on scenes. With each i built them up in layers which i think gives them more depth, i dont think all of them are as obvious as they should be but they work well as a whole poster.

Uni Theatre Project

Ive been doing a theatre project at uni atm, its challenging but very enjoyable. We had to choose a pantomine from a list and create our own take on it. Ive chosen sleeping beauty, my setting is a 1950s hospital and sleeping beauty is in a Coma, the doctor being the prince role and an old nurse being the witch.
